During
the month of July 578,396 passengers chose Brussels Airlines for
their travels, resulting in a passenger growth of 1.7% compared to
July 2011. The increase has led to an improvement of the seat load
factor of 1.7 percentage points.
The
passenger growth in July is mainly due to the intercontinental
service of Brussels Airlines. The number of passengers who travelled
with Brussels Airlines between Africa and Europe increased by 14.4%
in July. The new scheduled service to New York achieved excellent
results in
July with a seat load factor of 86.9%.Brussels Airlines focuses on intercontinental growth this year thanks to the integration of two additional long haul aircraft in their fleet. The encouraging July passenger figures illustrate the positive effect of this strategy.
The passenger growth of July only reflects the scheduled flights of Brussels Airlines. The passengers of charter flights operated by Brussels Airlines on behalf of tour operators are not included in these figures. In July Brussels Airlines operated around a dozen charter flights per week.
