Turkish
Minister of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications,
Binali Yildirim said that, with an average of 299 minutes per
subscriber per month, Turkey became Europe's top country in the use
of mobile phones.
Speaking to
the Anadolu Agency (AA), Minister Yildirim said that the number of
subscribers of broadband access in Turkey surpassed 19 million.
"Out of
19 million subscribers of broadband access, 11 million are
subscribers of mobile internet. There are around 50 million users of
internet in Turkey," Yildirim stressed.
"The
number of mobile phone subscribers in Turkey has reached 67
million," Yildirim said.
"In the
second quarter of 2012, total amount of minutes spent on mobile
phones reached 43.5 billion minutes in Turkey," Yildirim
also stated.
