Recently, Norwegian Cruise Line announced a brand new global social media campaign – 100 days to Norwegian Breakaway – to celebrate the launch of their brand new ship, Norwegian Breakaway. Norwegian’s using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest to generate buzz and excitement for the launch. Each day, the line will share a fun fact about the ship, destination, or of her year-round homeport of New York City.
Norwegian
also announced exclusive inaugural preview events in Europe and New
York for travel partners. In Europe, the line will offer exclusive
preview cruises from Rotterdam and Southampton for their European
travel partners. On April 30th, the Breakaway sets
sail for New York City from Southampton on her maiden voyage.
Inaugural
events continue when the Norwegian Breakaway makes
her New York debut. On May 8th, the ship will be
christened by her Godmothers, The Rockettes, one of New York’s most
illustrious and beloved icons. The christening events will be
followed by a two-night exclusive inaugural cruise.
From
May 10 through 12 (Mother’s Day Weekend), Norwegian is offering a
special preview sailing for New York-area mothers affected by
Hurricane Sandy in conjunction with the special holiday giveaway
episode of Katie Couric’s talk show, Katie.
Starting
on May 12 and continuing all summer long, the Norwegian
Breakaway will
offer weekly cruises to Bermuda. Her first Bermuda sailing will have
some special guests onboard: the line’s Chief Executive Officer
Kevin Sheehan and two Rockettes. The two Rockettes will sail aboard
the first six sailings of Norwegian
Breakaway,
and the first sailing of each month going forward, taking part in
special events for guests to enjoy. Beginning in October, the ship
will offer New Yorkers the chance to warm up in the Bahamas, Florida
and the Southern Caribbean.
