Following
publication of the CAA’s quarterly punctuality figures yesterday,
I’d like to clarify that London City Airport was in fact the most
punctual airport in the UK in the fourth quarter of 2012 on scheduled
flights, with 87% of flights on time.
I’m aware that Birmingham Airport has also made this claim, but Birmingham was actually the most punctual outside of London on scheduled flights, with 85% of flights on time.
London City Airport also had the shortest average delay, at just eight minutes.
I have attached the CAA’s data tables for clarity. Please don’t hesitate to contact myself or the CAA press office for further information.
