Ending
years of issues with hardware, databases, licensing and support with
their legacy Fidelio Suite 8, the Prinz Hotel finally entered the
modern era with a purely cloud-based hotel management system from
hetras.
Mr.
Christian Dorow, owner and manager of the hotel, spent a significant
amount of time on the decision. "I consider myself a pioneer.
Not only am I the first hotel director in Munich to switch to the
cloud but I also helped hetras further design and develop the
product."
The
small but stylish 4-star hotel, a short walk from hetras' Munich
office, has already experienced clear benefits from the cloud
architecture. "The hard disk on one of our front desk terminals
crashed last month" said Dorow. "I connected an old
computer, typed in the hetras URL in the browser, and was back online
within minutes. If I was still using Fidelio Suite 8, this process
could have taken days. And I don't even want to think about the
cost."
Mr.
Dorow is himself an expert in hotel software with plenty of
experience reaching back to the beginning of data processing in the
hotel industry. He has worked not only with legacy products such as
Fidelio but also Protel.
