Cruise Lines Cancel Egypt Calls

Cruise lines are canceling their Egypt calls due to the unrest in Egypt. 
Europe-based MSC Cruises has cancelled MSC Armonia’s 2013-2014 winter itineraries in the Red Sea as a result of political unrest in Egypt.
This winter, MSC Armonia travellers will now enjoy two exciting new itineraries departing from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a stunning volcanic island boasting breath-taking natural attractions including sublime sand dunes, beautiful marinas, tropical forests, craters and caves, as well as an intriguing history: it was from here that Christopher Columbus set off on his discovery of America.
Holland America Line is replacing calls to Port Said and Alexandria. The resulting itinerary revisions are:
11-day ms Noordam itineraries departing on August 15 (Piraeus, Greece) and August 26 (Istanbul, Turkey)
Port Said and Alexandria, Egypt, will be replaced by Ashdod (Jerusalem) and Haifa (Tel Aviv, Nazareth), Israel.

11-day ms Noordam itinerary departing on October 20 (Piraeus, Greece)
Port Said and Alexandria, Egypt, will be replaced by Haifa (Tel Aviv, Nazareth), Israel, and Limassol, Cyprus.

10-day ms Rotterdam itinerary departing on October 31 (Piraeus, Greece) and November 20 (Piraeus, Greece)
Port Said and Alexandria, Egypt, will be replaced by Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey and Limassol, Cyprus.

14-day ms Prinsendam itinerary departing on October 28 (Piraeus, Greece)
Port Said and Alexandria, Egypt, will be replaced by Rhodes, Greece, and Katakolon (Olympia), Greece.

Seabourn has replaced calls in Egypt on several upcoming sailings. 
Seabourn Legend, 15-day Civitavecchia (Rome) to Piraeus (Athens), departing on October 5, 2013, will no longer call at the Egyptian port of Alexandria. The affected segment of the itinerary is revised as follows:
Oct. 9   Thira, Nisos Thira (Santorini), Greece
Oct. 10 Agios Nikolaos, Crete, Greece
Oct. 11 Marmaris, Turkey

Seabourn Legend, 18-day Piraeus (Athens) to Dubai, departing on October 20, 2013, will no longer call at the Egyptian ports of Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh and Safaga. The affected segment of the itinerary is revised as follows:

Oct. 22 Rhodes, Greece
Oct. 23 At Sea
Oct. 24 Haifa (Tel Aviv), Israel
Oct. 25 Ashdod (Jerusalem), Israel

Seabourn Odyssey, 18-day Piraeus (Athens) to Dubai, departing on October 12, 2013, will no longer call at the Egyptian ports of Hurghada and Safaga. The affected segment of the itinerary is revised as follows:

Aida Cruises also will call Ashdod in Israel instead of Port Said at its "Aida Diva" at November sailing. In winter, the "Aida Mar" should be out in the Red Sea. According to a spokeswoman there is no decision, how to deal with these trips yet.
Avalon Waterways canceled all of its Nile River cruises through September.
