The renovation will
consist of enhancements to 1,329 guestrooms and 100,000 sq. ft . of
meeting space. Guestroom renovations will begin in February and are slated to
be complete one year later while the meeting space renovation will begin in
spring with completion expected in the fall.
The 70-floor hotel will
remain open throughout the project with a few floors at a
time undergoing reconstruction.
According to the
company, the new design will incorporate the city’s vibe and personality into
the modern décor theme. It will consist of a color palette of neutrals and
grays with teal accents. Photography of Detroit
architectural landmarks will be displayed on the walls.
The new meeting rooms will feature a color
palette of mauve, taupe, purple and brown. The ballroom and exhibit hall space
will also undergo extensive remodeling to allow for greater functionality.
