Vienna International Hotels taking over its sixth Arcadia Hotel in Germany

The expansion of Vienna International Hotels & Resorts (VI) in Germany continues unabated with the acquisition of the 3-star Arcadia Hotel in Neckarsulm effective 14 December 2013. The Austrian hotel operator now manages nine hotels in Germany.

Following the successful acquisition of five Arcadia Hotels in Coburg, Amberg, Wuppertal, Limburg and Günzburg, the Austrian hotel operator Vienna International Hotels & Resorts with effect from 14 December 2013 acquired its sixth Arcadia brand hotel in the city of Neckarsulm (pop. 30,000) in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Dr. Andreas Karsten, the CEO of VI, commented on the newest hotel of the group: “Given the great financial strength of the city and the number of important companies in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, we are convinced of the business potential of this property.” The staff will be integrated with no interruption in service. Both parties have agreed to keep the purchase price confidential.

“With this latest property sale, we are further strengthening our good cooperation with Vienna International Hotels. The property in Neckarsulm will continue to be operated under the Arcadia brand and will remain a part of the Arcadia Group,” says Arcadia Group owner Dr. h.c. Reinhard Baumhögger.

The proximity to important production sites and to the city of Heilbronn, as well as the good accessibility to Germany’s national motorway network via the local expressway, are qualities that speak for the location of the hotel. The historic city, with a centre of revitalised timber-framed houses, was for centuries in the possession of the Teutonic Knights. Today, Neckarsulm is an important economic centre, home to big-name companies such as Audi, Schwarz Group (Lidl and Kaufland) as well as IT service provider Bechtle and important automotive suppliers such as KSPG.

The 3-star Arcadia Hotel Neckarsulm offers 96 rooms, one hotel restaurant, and conferencing options with six meeting rooms and a capacity for up to 100 people.
