SOUTH AMERICA ROADSHOW EQUIPS INDUSTRY

LAN and TAM airlines along with nearly 20 suppliers from South America ended their successful roadshow to Melbourne and Sydney with a lunch at Sydney’s Shangri La Hotel.

The roadshow promoted the destination through representation from PromPeru,Turismo Chile, tour operators, hoteliers and a range of local tourism suppliers, in the aim to equip travel industry members in Australia with more products and destination content.
PromPeru’s Manuela Nielsen showcased Peru as an ‘Empire of Hidden Treasures’ with traditions mixed into new modern culture.  A country where you can indulge in Peruvian cuisine, with unique foods and world class wines, as the country enjoys a gastronomic boom with travellers.  Ms Nielsen told KarryOn that Peru was a destination that was much more than the iconic Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail, but has much more to offer in lesser known architecture.  A country to be considered also for their festivals, experiential travel through homestays and community work and a great spot for adventure travel and surfing.
Turismo Chile long-haul market manager, Juan Lopez showed why Chile was the “best kept secret in world tourism”.  From recognition by awards worldwide to being ranked in the Top 10 Honeymoon Destinations, Chile is a place to fall in love with.
Other operators with representation at the roadshow and lunch included Condor Travel, RUTAS, Lima Tours, Bolivia’s Crillon Tours, Aqua Expeditions, Hyatt Hotels and Georeisen from Ecuador.
