American Cruise Lines Announces 2015 Theme Cruises

GUILFORD, CT – American Cruise Lines announced recently its theme cruises for 2015, including a Savories of the South cruise, a Civil War Eastern Theater theme cruise to complement the Western Theater Civil War cruises offered on the Mississippi River, and a Puget Sound Food & Wine cruise, that celebrates the regional cuisines and wine of the Pacific 
Northwest. 

Savories of the South Cruise– New Orleans Roundtrip: Local historians, culinary experts, and featured chefs will educate passengers on the rich history of some of the South’s most lively cities, such as New Orleans, and their famous cuisines. While in port, guests will be privy to exclusive cooking presentations and tastings such as a mint julep demonstration at Oak Alley Plantation. Guest attendees include Tom Fitzmorris, whose cookbook will be signed and handed out onboard.

Civil War Eastern Theater Cruise – Historic South & Golden Isles: Following the popularity of Civil War theme cruises on the Mississippi River, American Cruise Lines brings that theme to the East Coast. 
On this cruise, guests will discover the Eastern Theater of the American Civil War, visiting pivotal cities of the South such as Charleston, where some of the first shots of the Civil War were fired in 1861. In 
Savannah, guests will enjoy an eye-opening tour of its Colonial, Revolutionary and Civil War history, visiting historic battle grounds, as well as many fascinating historic buildings and monuments. Featured 
lecturers will entertain guests and offer added insight while onboard.

Food & Wine Cruise – Puget Sound: On this Pacific Northwest cruise through the majestic Puget Sound, guests will learn about the pairing regional cuisines with their best-accompanied wines. Onboard 
wine expert, Eleanor Pawley, offers guests tips on finding the best local wine to compliment savory Pacific Northwest salmon. In Anacortes, WA, guests will experience the Paseck Cellar operation which crafts a variety of fruit wines including cranberry and raspberry wine.
