Singapore to host over 11,000 delegates at September Healthcare meetings

Singapore will host over 11,000 medical and healthcare professionals who will convene to discuss the major issues and trends impacting the healthcare industry today at pinnacle events including Medical Fair Asia and HIMSS Asia Pacific.
A regional hub and international centre for clinical research and development housing over 30 global medical technology companies and home-grown start-ups, Singapore provides a vibrant healthcare eco-system, driving innovation to meet today’s growing healthcare demands.
With over 30 world-class hospitals and medical centres, Singapore was ranked sixth out of 191 countries in the world and best healthcare system in Asia by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 2000, Singapore was most recently also ranked 2nd in terms of efficiency in healthcare system among 48 countries by Bloomberg in 2013. These factors, together with Singapore’s reputation as a leading destination for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions, have helped to attract business event organisers to hold healthcare events in Singapore.
In addition, to Medical Fair Asia which kicks off tomorrow, HIMSS Asia Pacific will also focus on the various aspects across the healthcare spectrum, from medical equipment and supplies, to healthcare IT and informatics. This provides delegates with a meaningful experience, enabling them to learn and network with their peers in the healthcare industry.
Singapore continues to be a popular destination for medical events. With recent interest to address issues related to ageing and rehabilitation, 2015’s pipeline of events including RehabTech Asia; and the largest gathering of physical therapists, the World Confederation for Physical Therapy will witness a vibrant exchange of ideas, research and business relating to the topic.
