Germania connects capitals of Germany and Iran

Germania A319
Germania airline has launched a new capital-to-capital connection. The carrier connects Germany’s capital; Berlin with Iran’s capital; Tehran. Germania is now flying twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays from Berlin to Tehran non-stop. On Sunday evening, flight ST3328 took off for the first time from Schönefeld Airport and flew to Imam Khomeini Airport in the Iranian capital.
Karsten Balke, CEO of Germania: “With Beirut in Lebanon we already offer an important capital city in the Middle East from Berlin. We are very pleased that with Tehran we are now making a further flight destination available from Schönefeld directly. With the launch of the new flight connection we are not only strengthening our home airport but also making a further commitment to Berlin as a business location.”
Hartmut Mehdorn, CEO of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: “We are delighted about the new connection from Schönefeld. Tehran is not only an important destination from Berlin but is also a significant addition to Germania’s extensive Berlin flight schedule. We wish the airline continued great success and consistently high capacity utilisation.”
With the new flight connection to Tehran, Germania is making one of the most varied destinations for tourism and one of the most up-and-coming economies in the world accessible from Berlin non-stop. Alongside business travellers and the increasing number of people going on city breaks and study trips, the route is also intended for people wishing to visit friends and relatives in the region. Tehran is furthermore an ideal starting point for a tour of the region. The new route is part of a larger commitment by the airline in Iran. Besides Berlin, Germania also flies from Düsseldorf to Tehran and in future will begin flying from Hamburg to Mashhad in the northeast of the country.
