MGM Resorts Foundation Announces The 2015 Women’s Leadership Conference July 13-14, 2015 In Las Vegas

As part of its continuing effort to promote career development and advancement among women, the nonprofit MGM Resorts Foundation (“Foundation”) today announced that the ninth annual Women’s Leadership Conference will be held July 13 and 14, 2015 at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. The Foundation is the conference’s lead sponsor.

The conference, themed “Women Inspiring Women,” features nationally recognized speakers and accomplished women role models, as well as forums for small-group dialogue and individual networking among highly motivated conference attendees. Recognizing the universality of the life and career lessons featured by the conference, it is open to women and equally to men from all jobs, professions and social backgrounds.

“We believe it’s critical to our company and our community to offer women the developmental tools they need to advance their careers,” said Phyllis A. James, Executive Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer of MGM Resorts International. “We also believe it’s important to support our community nonprofit organizations and programs. The Women’s Leadership Conference gives us a vehicle to do both.  We donate proceeds from the conference after costs to a local nonprofit that is devoted to the welfare and development of women and girls.”

The 2014 Women’s Leadership Conference sold out, with nearly 1,000 women and men in attendance. Organizers expect the 2015 conference to attract an even larger audience.

“We really struck a chord in women who are seeking new ways to expand their horizons and abilities,” Ms. James said. “With the economy improving and employers seeking nimble workers who possess advanced skill sets, it’s more important than ever that we host this important Women’s Leadership Conference.”

According to the most recent statistics from the U.S. Department of Labor, women made up an overall 47 percent of total employment but accounted for 52 percent of all workers employed in management, professional, and related occupations in 2012.

The early registration fee for conference participants is $285 until April 1, after which registration will cost $375. Registration includes all workshops and lectures during the two-day conference, a networking reception, and continental breakfasts and lunches catered by MGM Grand. Time is also allotted for attendees to build key professional relationships with other conference participants while enjoying the hospitality and entertainment of MGM Grand and other resorts of MGM Resorts International.

Participating sponsorships are available to organizations or companies who share the vision and goals of this conference.
