International non-stop air traffic to/from the U.S.(1) totaled 30.1 million passengers for January and February 2015, a six percent increase over the same two months in 2014.
U.S. citizen travel (12.7 million) was up seven percent, comprising 42 percent of all air traffic, and increased market share. Non-U.S. citizen air travelers (17.3 million) increased by five percent.
U.S. airlines carried 15.4 million passengers, up two percent, but their share declined to 51 percent. Foreign flags carried 14.7 million passengers, up nine percent from same period 2014

Overseas air traffic accounted for 21.4 million passengers, 71 percent of all international, and grew by five percent.
U.S. citizen travel (9.1 million) increased six percent and comprised 43 percent of overseas air traffic. Non-U.S. citizen air travelers (12.3 million) increased by five percent.
U.S. airlines carried 10.6 million passengers, up two percent, their share dropping from 51 to 50 percent. Foreign flags carried 10.8 million passengers, up eight percent from February 2014 YTD.

Estimated capacity (241,701 seats) on inbound flights from PRC was up 17.8 percent year-over-year. However, overall inbound passenger growth was 37.9 percent passenger growth.
North American markets accounted for 29 percent of U.S. international air traffic flows.
Canadian air traffic accounted for 4.5 million passengers, 15 percent of all international traffic, and increased by six percent.
U.S. citizen travel (888,000) increased 13 percent and comprised 20 percent of air traffic. Canadian, and other foreign national citizen air travelers transiting through Canada (3.6 million), increased by five percent. Market share declined to 80 percent.
U.S. flags carried 1.7 million passengers, down one percent from 2014, and their share declined to 38 percent. Foreign flags carried 2.8 million passengers, up 10 percent.

Mexico air traffic accounted for 4.2 million passengers, 14 percent of all international traffic, and was up nine percent.
U.S. citizen travel (2.7 million) increased 10 percent and comprised 65 percent of all air traffic. Mexicans, and other foreign national air travelers (1.5 million) transiting through Mexico, increased by seven percent, market share slipped to 35 percent.
U.S. flags carried 3.2 million passengers, up six percent from 2014, and their share dropped from 77 to 75 percent. Foreign flags carried 1.0 million passengers, up 19 percent increasing share to 25 percent.
