Carnival’s extremely popular “new” ship, Carnival Sunshine, made her inaugural call in the port of Martinique recently while on a 10-night Carnival Journeys cruise from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Port Canaveral.

Martinique, a Caribbean region of France, is just starting to see more cruise traffic again after years of being on the decline. Improved port infrastructure, taxi service, the acceptance of the USD, and more English-speaking locals have all contributed heavily to the growth of the port.
Other ports of call on this special ten-night Journeys cruise included Dominica, St. Thomas, Antigua, St. Croix, and Grand Turk. Carnival Sunshine is home-ported in Port Canaveral offering Caribbean itineraries.
