After a difficult year in 2016, Hilton Bodrum Turkbuku Resort & Spa concludes its 2016 season and now preparations for 2017 season started. Ozgur Tore talked with Mrs. Gülnur Atmaca, Assistant General Manager – Business Development at Hilton Bodrum Turkbuku Resort & Spa about 2016 season and expectations for 2017.
Unfortunately season started to drop when UK Brexit crises and Euro zone economic issues started, this has affected the Early Bird bookings very early and hotels had to extend the EB reduction or replace it with Special Offer.
“The terrorism fear impact tourism in Europe. On the other hand in Turkey; tensions with Russia, and the July 15 failed coup attempt kept tourists away from us but we have to and are continuing our business. We finished 2016 season slightly below the B-Plan Budged of 2016. And must add that all marketing tools has been used accordingly on daily basis, it was like a stock exchange!” says Mrs. Gülnur Atmaca.
“Despite all those issues we face this year, our property as well as the country’s cultural and tourism products and services are well-known and popular among European tourists. We believe that they will continue to visit Turkey. As Hilton Bodrum Turkbuku Resort & Spa, we already signed several contracts with European tour operators and we still continue to make more business agreements,” added Mrs. Atmaca.
Besides leisure tourism, Hilton Bodrum Turkbuku Resort & Spa is also popular in the MICE industry. With its 1270 sqm (13.700 sq ft) meeting room, the property attracts several national and international meetings.
“We already secured 3 meetings; one international and two nation events here. We will host the 11th International Mediterranean Meeting on Hypertension and Atherosclerosis on 20-23 April 2017” says Mrs. Atmaca.
Mrs. Atmaca announced that Hilton Bodrum Turkbuku will attend some of the most important exhibitions such as ITB-Berlin, ATM-Dubai, MITT-Moscow and exhibitions in Iran, Azerbaijan, and Ukraine.
“We have 9 villas. All are around 350 to 400sqm, have kitchen, 3 floors and have 4 bedrooms and a living room. Each villa has its own swimming pool and offers undisturbed privacy. We offer butler service and our villa guests have a private pier at the property’s private bay.
Hilton Bodrum Turkbuku Resort & Spa, which ends its 2016 season on October 18, will reopen its doors for 2017 season on May 19, 2017.
