Airports Council International (ACI) World announces Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu, President of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), as Keynote speaker for the 27th ACI Africa/World Annual General Assembly Conference & Exhibition, taking place from 16–18 October 2017 in Port Louis, Mauritius under the theme "Bold leadership in a time of change."

Dr. Aliu is expected to outline the Aviation Benefits report, a joint initiative between ICAO, ACI and other prominent international aviation organizations, that highlights the industry's commitment to the sustainable development of aviation as tool for growth and development. It is aimed mainly at government leaders and national planners, contains a summarized checklist on the steps to be taken by governments to maximize these air transport benefits, helpful overviews of the related investment, partnership and planning priorities and comprehensive regional summaries of aviation's far-reaching socio-economic impacts.

"It is my great honour to be able to address this engaging topic from the standpoint of ICAO's role as the global leader of air transport cooperation," said Dr. Aliu. "ICAO and ACI are very determined and engaged partners in this regard and it will be my pleasure to join them at their next Assembly in Mauritius and to highlight some of the challenges now being faced by both African and global aviation."

"ACI is pleased to have Dr. Aliu join over 500 airport practitioners from around the world in Mauritius," said Angela Gittens, Director General, ACI World. "Dr. Aliu's participation builds on a long lasting relationship between ACI and ICAO. Both organizations share a common vision of aviation as socio-economic drivers and Dr. Aliu has led great strides towards achieving that vision."
